PREPARATION
How Often Will I Need Body Sugaring Treatments?
We would be pleased to set up a free, no oblligation consultation, to discuss a treatment program to suit your specific needs. We usually book appointments 4-6 weeks apart, depending on hair growth.
Your first 3 appointments are the most important.
To see the best results it is important that your first 3 Sugaring sessions be booked close together. These appointments will be the most effective at softening and reducing hair growth. After 3 consecutive treatments your overall hair density will be lowered and the stubborn coarse hair will be diminished. If you are considering sugaring in preparation for a specific event (a wedding, vacation, or summer season) it is optimal if you begin booking your treatments 6-9 months before. This will give you the best results. Sugaring treatments done regularly lead to less painful treatments and a more thorough removal of hairs. It allows slower growth and it can lead to permanent reduction of growth.
Before Your Appointment
First Appointment.
Please make sure your hair growth is at least 1/4 inch before your first appointment with us (about 5-7 days growth). If it is longer than this, please trim to approximately 1/4 inch. Come with clean dry skin. On the day of your appointment please do not use any oils, lotion, deodorant or any other skin care products on the area of the skin to be sugared. First time clients may notice small red bumps on the area that was sugared, as hair is more resistant the first time it is removed. This is completely normal and will last only a few hours.
The Day of Your Appointment.
Please shower so that your skin does not have any excess oils etc.
Do not wear any deoderant, oils, perfume, lotion or other skin care products on the areas that will be sugared.
It is best to sugar clean, dry skin.
Between Appointments.
We cannot sugar sunburned skin, so please avoid the sun for 24 hours before your appointment.
Please do not shave or use depilatory cream as this will interfere with your goals of decreased hair growth and smoother skin.
Regular exfoliation and hydration of skin is necessary for healthy skin, but please avoid this the day before, the day of, and the day after your appointment.
If you are concerned about being too sensitive to pain, taking a pain killer about 30 minutes before your appointment can ease your worries and make the treatment go more smoothly.
After Your Appointment
,
What to Expect.
With sensitve skin it is normal to see slight redness after your treatment. This usually does not last for more than an hour or two after sugaring. At SugaredSmooth we do our best to remove all the hair all the time, so prepare yourself to feel clean, smooth, silky, and soft!
What to Avoid.
Try not to touch your freshly sugared area with dirty hands.
Very hot baths or showers can heighten skin sensitivity, so they are not advised.
Directly after sugaring is not the best time for a trip to the gym, as sweat can irritate the newly sugared area.
Avoid sun tanning for at least 24 hours after your sugaring appointment, as sugared skin will be more sensitive to the UV rays.
We suggest you avoid perfumed soaps and products with chemicals irritants on sugared skin for 24 hours after treatment. Do not apply deodorant to underarms and avoid make-up for 12 hours after a sugaring treatment.
